November 14 - November 21

Exterior paving should be completed around the building. Drywall work and painting will continue inside, particularly around the grand stair. Ceiling installations will continue through the building with flooring installation following. Terrazzo flooring will be installed on the ground level. Mechanical/electrical/plumbing installations will continue with trim out. Information systems and A/V installations will begin. LEED commissioning activities and preparation for equipment startup will also be taking place.

November 7 - November 14

Exterior paving work will be completed around the building; fence will be removed. Drywall work and painting will continue inside, particularly around the grand stair. October 12 - October 19

Exterior paving work will resume on the north and west sides of the building. Drywall work and painting will continue. Ceiling installations will begin. Mechanical/electrical/plumbing/special systems installations continue and will move toward trim out now. October 5 - October 12

Drywall work is progressing on all floors; painting has begun. The curved glass installations have now moved to the main level. Windows are being caulked. Preparations are being made for the metal panel installations. Mechanical/electrical/plumbing/special systems installations continue and will move toward trim out now.

September 12 - September 19

Drywall work is fully underway; finishing has started on the first floor; hanging is progressing on the second floor and will soon move to the third floor. The second floor curved glass is installed and the third floor curved glass should be completed this week.

August 30 - September 5

Window installations will be completed and installation of the front curved glass walls will begin. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing of the interior of the building will wrap up. Drywall installation will begin.

August 14 - 22

Parking lot will reopen on Friday, August 14. Window installations will continue; building will be enclosed shortly. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing of the interior of the building is wrapping up. Drywall installation will begin.

July 19 - 25

Brick and pre-cast installations will continue on the north side; this is the final part of the installation and should wrap up at the end of the month. Roofing is underway and should be completed prior to the parking lot work. Prep work will continue for windows and the curtainwall. Other work will include mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing all on the interior of the building. Parking lot work will take place between July 24 and August 11; access will be impacted at various times during this work.

July 12 - 18

Brick and pre-cast installations will continue on the east and north sides. Roofing activities were delayed some by weather but will now get underway. Other work will include mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing. Parking lot work will take place between July 24 and August 11; access will be impacted at various times during this work.

June 28 - July 4

Brick and pre-cast installations will continue on the east and north sides. Roofing activities were delayed some by weather but will now get underway. Other work will include mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing. Site utility work will resume, including ductbank work in the roundabout at S & 15th Streets and storm sewer and sanitary sewer installations on the north west part of the site. Schedules are being developed for replacement of the parking lot pavement- planning for July 27 - August 9.

June 14 - June 27

Steel, brick and pre-cast installations will continue up to the roof. The grand stair and egress stairs installations will be completed. Other work will include mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing. Site utility work will resume, including ductbank work in the roundabout at S & 15th Streets.

May 31 - June 6

Steel, masonry and pre-cast installations will continue up to the 3rd floor and the roof. The grand stair and egress stairs will be installed. Other work will include mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing.

May 18 - May 24

Second floor slab will be installed. Steel, masonry and pre-cast installations will continue. Precast work will include the east side which will impede on some parking spaces; traffic to docks will be maintained. Other work will include mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing.

May 11 - May 17

Steel, masonry and pre-cast installations will continue. Other work will include mechanical and electrical rough-ins, framing, and site utility work. Steam line connections will be made during the steam outage. Water line taps should be completed on May 12.

April 27 - May 10

Pre-cast concrete will begin to be set. Steel and masonry installations will continue for the 3rd floor. Other work will include mechanical and electrical rough-ins, framing on the main level, and site utility work.

April 20 - April 26

Activities will include: steel and masonry installations, mechanical and electrical rough-ins, framing in the basement, site utility work, and main level floor work.

April 6 - April 19

Activities will include: steel and masonry installations for the second level, mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing in the basement, site utility work, and preparation for installation of remainder of the main level floor.

March 30 - April 5

Masonry block wall installation will be completed to second floor and then will begin again on the south and work around for the next level. Materials will be relocated to inside the construction fence. Steel erection for 2nd floor will be completed. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing will continue in the basement. Site utility work will continue. Final footings will be completed and preparation for installation of remainder of the main level will begin.

March 23 - March 29

Backfill on the north and east will be completed. Masonry block wall installations and steel erection will continue. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins and framing will continue in the basement. Site utility work will begin.

March 16 - 22

On the north side of the site, the concrete installations will continue and backfill will get underway. Masonry block wall installations will continue and steel erection will resume. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins will take place in the basement.

March 9 - March 15

Masonry block installation will continue for the exterior walls. Work on footings, foundations, and the steam tunnel will continue to the north.

March 1 - March 8

Structural steel will be delivered and erected. Masonry block installation will continue on the south and west walls and may begin on the east wall. Excavation and work on footings, foundations, and tunnel will continue to the north.

February 16 - February 29

Masonry block installation will continue on the south wall. Backfill will be completed on the east side. Work on footings and foundations will continue on the west and start to the north.

February 9 - February 15

The basement floor slab will be installed. Work on the main level foundations will continue. Masonry block installation will be on the south wall.

February 2 - February 8

Mechanical and electrical rough-ins for the basement will be completed and the floor slab will be installed. Backfill around the basement walls and work on the main level foundations will continue. Masonry block wall installations should begin.

January 26 - February 1

Backfill around the basement walls and work on the main level foundations will continue. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins for the basement will be completed and the floor slab will be installed. Masonry block wall installations should begin.

January 19 - January 25

Masonry block installations for elevator and stairs will continue. Backfill around the basement walls and preparation for the main level foundations will continue. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins for the lower level will also be continuing.

January 12 - January 18

Masonry block installations for elevator and stairs will continue. Backfill around the basement walls will get underway and preparation for the main level foundations will begin.

December 22 - January 11

Drain tile and waterproofing will continue to be installed and associated backfill will also be completed. Shoring will be removed from the south side of the excavation. Steel erection of the first floor will be completed and the first floor slab will be installed. Masonry installations will continue.

December 15 - December 21

Installation of foundation walls is nearly complete; working around weather. Waterproofing is being installed and then some backfill will be completed. Shoring will be removed from the south side of the excavation accordingly. Masonry installation for the elevator shaft will continue. Steel to arrive on Monday 12/15 and then erection of the first floor will begin.

December 1 - December 7

Work will continue with foundation wall installations including removal of existing forms, set up of new formwork, placement and preparation of rebar, and installation of concrete. Possibly some backfill and block laying will begin.

November 24 - November 30

Work will continue with foundation wall installations and elevator pit footings including removal of existing forms, set up of new formwork, placement and preparation of rebar, and installation of concrete.

November 17 - November 23

Work will continue with foundation wall installations including removal of existing forms, set up of new formwork, and placement and preparation of rebar.

November 10 - November 16

Work will continue with foundation wall installations and elevator pit footings including removal of existing forms, set up of new formwork, placement and preparation of rebar, and concrete installation.

November 3 - November 9

Work will continue with foundation wall installations. The elevator pit will be drilled in. Electrician will be setting up temporary power for the site.

October 27 - November 2

First activity will be dewatering and drying out the excavation. Then will continue with footing installations as soon as possible.

October 20 - October 26

Shoring (supporting wall for the excavation) installation should be completed. Fenced site will be changed in the parking lot adjacent to the bookstore docks. This week's work will include dewatering and drying out the excavation and continuing with footing installations.

October 13 - October 19

On Monday October 13 the shoring installation- supporting wall for the south side of the excavation- will begin. This activity will last most of the week and will include equipment and materials in the parking lot plus some additional noise. Four of the five Special Union parking space will be closed to allow for material storage. Footing preparation and installation will continue. The bookstore dock modifications will be completed.

October 6 - October 12

Footing preparation and installation will be the main activity this week. The modifications to the south bookstore dock will continue with concrete being installed Monday - Wednesday. Then the bookstore area will be cleaned up and the construction wall removed.

September 29 - October 5

Excavation for the basement will continue to be the main activity this week. Preparation for footing installation will also begin. The storage/staging area on the Union plaza should be fenced in on Tuesday or Wednesday. The modifications to the south bookstore dock will begin on Monday and will continue until about October 17.

September 22 - 28

Mobilization and establishment of the construction site should be complete. The asphalt paving will be cut and stripped over the weekend (9/20). Excavation for the basement will be the main activity this week. The storage/staging area on the Union plaza will also be fenced in.

September 12 - 21

Project preparation of tree removal and parking changes will begin on the 11th or 12th. The General Contractor, Hausmann Construction, will mobilize on Monday, September 15 and begin to establish the construction site. This will impact the parking lot east of the Union and the northeast corner of the plaza. The sidewalk north of the parking lot will be closed for the duration of the construction project. The prime activities during this first week will be perimeter installation, site setup, and initial demolition.
